What is the coolest thing about your job and why?
The thing I enjoy about my job is my interactions with our customers. As a former firefighter, I do miss working at the firehouse and working with my friends. Working at Gear Wash, I am still able to see my friends and meet new ones along the way. The fire service has always been like a family to me and I am still able to be part of that family working at Gear Wash.
What's your favorite family tradition?
While we don't have too many traditions, my wife and I started the tradition of going on a cruise on our anniversary. We haven't been able to go every year, but every time we do go, we have a great time!
What's your go-to happy hour drink?
American Mule or Moscow Mule
If you could pick up a new skill in an instant, what would it be?
If I could, I would learn to pilot an aircraft. I had worked within the Medical Helicopter industry for a little while and always enjoyed hearing from our pilots.
What is your #1 recommended TV show or movie?
I would have to say that Better Call Saul is one of my favorites. They include so many small details into the show, you have to watch sometimes more than once to pick up everything.
What's the best advice you've ever received? What about the worst advice?
The best advice I had ever been given was "What's the worst thing they can say? No?". I have been able to build a non-profit that helps firefighters all across the US with this advice.
The worst advice I had ever been given was "never get married". I have been happily married for 4 years now and just welcomed our first child. While there has been bumps in the road with my wife, I enjoy being married and starting a family. What's the craziest thing you've ever done?
The craziest thing I have ever done was try to snowboard. While I did make it up the hill, I never made it down on my snowboard. As soon as I got ready to go, I fell down and hurt my ankle. I have not tried it since.
If you had to eat one meal every day for the rest of your life, what would it be?
I would say that I could have a nice steak everyday.
If you could live anywhere on this planet, where would you choose to live?
The Cayman Islands. I came close to taking a job in Grand Cayman. My time on the island was great and there were so many beautiful place there.
What's the last book you read?
NITRO: The Incredible Rise and Inevitable Collapse of Ted Turner's WCW. I am a wrestling fan of the 90s, and this book was very fascinating to read. Not only for the wrestling stories, but the business end too.
